  • Trex 600 nsp tail twitch

Ok so last week I has a real garage sale crash with my nsp, one of the wires came off the Align 2 in 1, I was inverted at the time and it landed on the head.

So I've replaced everything that was damaged, feathering shaft, flybar, blades (main & tail), boom, (only slightly bent so old TT has gone back in). and replaced the TT gears. I have a Kasama head on it and I replaced the bent blade grip arms and a couple of ball links.

I went to fly it yesterday and although it flies perfectly when I'm hammering it round when its in a hover there is a constant twitching/kicking on the tail, a bit like a vibration somewhere is causing the gyro problems. (Its not a belt drive but if it was its almost like the belt is slipping.) When I spool up to take off everything is normal, but when I spool down I can see from the head button as the blades get slower that the mainshaft gets a bit of a wobble going on.

Now the main shaft bearings are all ok but I've ordered some more to be on the safe side, but if that doesnt work I'm stumped.

The TT & TT bearing are fine, tail output shaft and bearings are all good, new head dampers, no slop anywhere, blades are all balanced so has anyone got any ideas of where to look next?

Where is the gyro mounted? Is it a 611 by any chance?

Yes its a 611 and the head is mounted at the front just above the servo stack.

I had the same thing with a 611. 1 crash and developed a kick in the hover

I did a swap out for a Spartan and the problem went. I don't think they crash too well TBH.

Not much help to you sorry

Do you have a bit of 'float' in the boom/torque tube? Finless' vids on the 600n build show this, you pull back a touch when putting the tail case on.
My friend had a wag on his 600n and it was the lack of float in the torque tube causing the tube to bow, vibrate, and the gyro to pick it up.

          Thanks

Have to sort of agree with Tom, does sound like the sensor could have been effected.
To be on the safe side, what about sending it back to Ripmax to see if they can check it, they have so called a way to check them
