  • tail not holding

Got a problem which is bugging me, when i apply full throttle the heli climbes but tail does not hold (heli turns to the left) this only happens when full throttle is applied if i apply full throttle while in forward flight its fine and holds perfectly.
Have tried all different gyro gains etc maybe thinking the tail servo has a fault?
The heli is a trex 700 le 750 gyro and ds650 tail servo only 12 flights old.
    Any suggestions?

Keep an eye on the servo. My DS620 failed following similar problems.

Might also be worth checking the travel of the tail pitch slider. Is it going to the full extents of the tail rotor shaft in both directions?

Is that nose left then I would suggest tail authority. The torque of the blades is overcoming what thrust you have available from the tail. Is the mechanical movement maxed out on the pitch slider. Does it hold okay in fast backwards flight?

Re check your limit settings on the tail and make sure it is as far as you can get it.
Pop the link off the tail servo and make sure the max travels one way to the next is smooth, it might be binding somewhere.
Have you also stripped your tail hubs and regreesed the thrust bearings, they could have thread lock stuck in them

Yes the 700 tail can blow out under heavy load when running lots of Pitch and is very noticable when you have a fresh breeze from your left (assuming your tail in)

A few things will help. Ensure full ltravel on the slider, higher headspeed, less Main blade Pitch, Shorter main blades (690's against 710) Longer tail blades. 3 different Gyro combos I've tested and on 4 different 700's.

There were discussions a while back about a tail speed up gear set but not sure if it came to anything on RR

              Ok all sorted now.
I change the tail servo to another ds650 from another heli and it work perfectly, so i sent the servo back to Robbe as its only a few months old and they contacted me today to inform me there is a problem with it and are sending me a new replacement one in the post.
              Thx for all the replies
