trex 700 main shaft play??

On my trex 700le i have fitted the main shafrt and there is some vertical play. i fitted a washer on the shaft as per the manual, ( i had to use the thinest one as if i use any of the others i can not attach the gears as the holes wont line up ) I am right in thinking there should be no play at all?

Any sugesstions?

If you cannot get the next size up to fit then you arn't looking at a problem mate.

In time it may settle down making room for the next thickest size shim.
