Mine's the standard clutch too. Don't recall my engine ever screaming prior to engaging, but I may be wrong. Are the LE clutches different to the NSP ones?

Mine screams before engaging, just noticed after changing whole clutch stack. It gets better because the clutch springs, which is the moment before it goes snap. It really needs a thicker liner, or a bigger clutch.

Could be. However, I just checked the Align manuals for the pair of them and the clutch, bell and liner are the same part numbers.

Odd. Must be some kinda manufacturing defect, or a redesign?

If its screaming the clutch liner is to big and was common place on very early 600N's. Just a matter of time till you pop the shoe.

This issue seems to have mysteriously re-appeared after Align addressed it within a couple months of launch.

Problem is the same, the liner to clutch gap is to big. If your carefull or just plain tight like me, you can prise out the originial liner and re-use it.

To get the correct gap just add a strip of paper between the bell/liner to bring the dia down. The extra layer of epoxy + layer of paper is about right (5min epoxy is fine BTW)
You will have to remove a slither off the end of the liner as its dia has reduced. 2 wraps of insulating tape on the clutch shoe should give you a neat but sliding fit for the correct gap.

A raptor 90 liner is another alternative for those with a deeper pocket and less patience

Well i decided to changed the align clutch in my 600le last night for the quick uk one and just put 5 tanks though it today, the difference is massive, where as before it used to scream before engaging its now very smooth.
I would reccomend anyone changing the original clutch to install the upgrade.
