  • YS91SR in a 700

Yesterday I swapped my N9 airframe for a 700LE from swashbuckler, (I have my reasons! ) My question is, how does the YS91SR work in the 700?
With the lack of an alternative gear ratio, does it still work well? I'm a bit worried it may be forced to rev a bit too hard. Anybody else using one in a 700?

Hi Ian, the standard 1950, 80% on the align gov and seems to work well

I use it in my 700LE, LOTS of torque and a much wider 'sweet spot' for tuning than my OS91 SZ had - very chuffed with it. Mine is ungoverned as I never got round to fitting the Revlock.

The peak engine speed is about 15400rpm I believe which would give you a head speed at about 1890 rpm at the 8.2 ratio. Most people seem to run about 1950 head speed (me too) which should allow the engine to bog into it's peak power area. The numbers are all a bit hypothetical really. It just works well at 1950 head speed.
