  • Fuel in the tanks and Q's about Gov's?

Hi again! Sorry for spamming but I need more help!

Im still to get my maiden in the 600LE, if fact, I still need to break in my engine.. I would have done it this weekend if Midland Heli's sent me the correct starter!!..

Anyways, this is my first nitro and I'm only 3 months in with this hobby, so this is probably stupid question to ask. Is it OK to keep fuel in the tank when its stored till its next flight, or should I empty it after every session?

Also, I've never used a Gov before and I've got it set up like this post from HeliFreaks which I also found on Heliaddicts. Align Governor Installed........VERY Easy - HeliFreak What I want to know is whether its OK or do I need to know or change anything else? and heres another stupid Q. If I turn off the Gov under the above set up using the Aux2 switch on the DX7.. will it just mean the h/s wont be controlled but I can still fly? OK, you can stop laughing now!

Thanks again for you patience and help!

I always leave fuel stored in the tank to prolong the life of the clunk...

Leave the gov dis-connected until you run the engine in. It will run off your throttle curves if you switch the gov off.

You part of a club, would be a really good idea to get someone to go over it with you if possible. Its a steep enough learning curve with people helping you, wouldnt want to imagine how it would end without it.

Real quick answers, just about to eat.
Fuel is ok left in the tank, if you use a fuel magnet its recommended.
I dont use an align govenor, but with all govenors, you should ALWAYs have a usable throtttle curve that you will revert to if the govenor should fail

        Cool. Thanks for replies guys!

I'm not part of a club Paul, was looking at MK Heli recommended by WaveyDavey! Unfortunately I couldnt commit due to my lack of free time. However Dave has kindly offered his help which I should and will take his offer. I thought I'd ask a few basics before I do take it out for its first flight.

Sean, Im using the set up as the link shows and when the GOV fails or is switched off (red light) i'm using a 0-100% curve as its stated. Hope this is fine!

Dispite me being a novice! Bob's 101 and alot off researching makes me 99.9% confident I've got this mechanically and electronically set up correctley, I sure i've got it right but its just the stupid Questions I want clearing up.
