Thunder Tiger Carry Master - Good, Bad or Ugly?

Hey everybody,

I was just wondering if this package was a good buy? Prices are the same (..ish) just about everywhere (give and take a few pounds).


CONTENTS
- 4 way wrench
- 3 liter fuel cell
- glow starter/charger
- 12v starting battery/charger
- 12v HD starter
- 12v fuel pump
- recoil fuel tubing

The point is all my starter kit is in India, along with my 600 Nitro and I intend to get another 600 here very soon (the separation and the distance is killing me) and so just need some help figuring out if this would be a good investment - considering I don't have any starter equipment with me at the moment.

Yes, it does look cool, but is it worth a 100 quid (plus postage)?

If you think its not one, please give me some input into the available alternatives I could consider - because im sure it wouldn't feel nice running around the club asking different pieces of equipment from fellow flyers eih!.

If I were you I would be looking a a 2nd hand starter and shaft, 12v field batt, and a glow starter,with a cheapo fuel pump

I bought the thunder tiger carry master when i first started out..The electric pump soon burnt out..the starter isnt much good for starting anything more than a 30 size..still have the field battery which i dont actually use anymore..i still use the wand..coiled fuel tube is very good..4 way wrench I found useless..I have fitted on board glo to both my helis so the glo stick is now redundant but it did do a good job..the screw drivers were used for something (cant remember what)..also there is no room for the bits and bobs i like to take to the field (fuel filters glo plugs tools etc). IMO not worth the money really.
Just my 2 pennies worth.

Don't forget if you fit the Align 2-in-1 to the 600 You'll have no need for the remote glow. I've had three remote glow sticks in the past & they've all fallen apart

Best off buying a fairly cheap but capable Hi-torque starter, strapping a cheap 4S Turnigy or Loong max lipo to it & buying a good quality hand pump for a tenner.

Same opinion here..

I had one of those and i still use the starter (with a 4S strapped to it).. and it still works fine (ish).. Starts my 50 with no problems but smokes every once in a while when i try to turn my 90 engine with it lol!!

Everything else apart from the coiled tube is pretty much redundant.. I slowly got rid of stuff and gave stuff away but still have the shell..

If you want it to fit your bits and bobs in you can have it.. (i removed the fuel tank and got rid of it.. so there is some space to store other things..)..

Thanks Mojo, but it somehow doesn't feel right buying the whole package just for the starter (WHICH AGAIN, MOST OF YOU ARE NOT A 100% SATISFIED WITH) and the shell! a £100 for that huh? yehaa right! LOL

It was all good enough for me as beginner As everything was in one box and i really didn't mind the quality as it all worked fine

But you live and learn If you still want the shell let me know and i'll either post it to you or if you're going to a flyin/event soon i'll bring it with me.. Its here if you want
