Has anybody added fiberglass to the inside of their 700LE canopy?

I have a canomod 600 canopy that has stress marks in the paint and i dont want my 700LE canopy going the same way!

Or is it not a problem with the 700LE canopy?

shouldnt be a problem with the 700 canopy because of the way its mounted.theres no clip to force over the skids like on the 600 so you shouldnt get any stress cracks

Instead you get grommets and posts which are way too tight meaning you stress the whole side of the canopy taking it off! Change the posts for quick uk ones and the problem is solved

I already have the quick uk ones fitted

So hopefully the canopy should be ok (as long as i dont crash! )

little tip i do on all my canopies.

re-enforce around the usual areas with toilet paper and CA. press the CA into the paper with an old tescos bag or something on your hand then throw away when done. this looks very neat and a lot less mess than breaking out the glass wool kit.

for example round the grommet holes i put a 3" square bit of tissue over the hole, CA, press out the tissue and refit the grommet-works nicely. don't be tempted to use many layers at same time, if you need many layers put them on one at a time or the edges will fold up when the glue dries unevenly.

            cheers

I've never glassfibred a 700LE canopy .. mine's still in customs.. but certainly done 600e and N's and gasser canopies! Easy enough to lay another layer of matting down with resin.. although for small patches I find it's easier to use epoxy with the matting .. better way to pick the time you want to be able to work it especially inside awkward areas.. the resin kits from halfords always go off too quick for me..

Reinforcing grommet holes at the first signs of wear will extend life...but I'd trade the screw type upgrades for the RCBooya ones.
