  • Lesson learnt :(

Well it had to happen at some time. Stuck my beloved 600 in today.

First tank of the day through it aswell. Was just messing round with needle settings climbing and decending when it just screamed its nuts off. Flicked back into normal mode and still carried on, so into throttle hold and panicked. Stuck in too much negative and thump in it went sob.

After checking it over I found the clunk line had split and come off. A while ago I read a thread about replacing the tubing regually, ohh how I wish I had remembered about that now.

Bit of thought and a couple of penceworth of clunk line vs:- Blades, skids, boom, boom braces, torque tube, flybar, front tail gear, tail output shaft, ball links, servo horn and tail servo gears.

    One word...... Gutted!

              Sorry to hear that

I had a clunk line come off last year sometime, put me into a forced auto for the first time, got it down in one piece luckily . It was my best auto, still to this day.
Its easy to say, but it is all about staying calm in these situations. If you panic, your train of thought goes into a scrambled mess! I dont practice auto's as much as i should, but they are well worth practicing to save the hassle and your wallet.

Hope you get it built up soon and get it back in the air
              Thanks, Chris

                OH NO !!!
What a real shame Mark. I do hope that your able to get it all sorted, but what a bill to have due to a clunk line failure. I guess it only takes one small thing to cause a crash, but a rather expensive lesson mate.
Don't know what else to say really ? Not nice news though !

Cheers all, really didnt expect after just one gallon it would go, mind you I did use the Align tubing which was in the kit for clunk line, daft thing is I just found some decent stuff Ron gave me with the header tank when I was building it.

Bill will be around the £140 mark so having a look around tomorrow for anywhere I might sell my carp fishing gear, failing that free ads. Still, goto look on the bright side I've sorted my tail vibe out now lol.

Well birthday money will be in this week so can get everything ordered up towards the end of the week .

Dont think I'll quite have enough for blades which brings me to my question... Are glassfibre blades ok for the 600? Theyre about 28 quid I think, tho I have seen some "slight seconds" of 600mm PRO carbons for 35 quid.

All I intend on doing is getting her repaired all up and running and just a few flights to make sure all is as spot on as before. Then it will be put on the shelf til I'm back working again and can afford repair bills. Would I be best off getting the fibreglass ones (temp measure) or spending the few extra quid to get the seconds so I can carry on when Im back in a beter position again?

                      Cheers

                      Mark
