  • First mechanical issue on my 700

Went to the field today for a few hours but only managed one flight with the 700. as I came in it was making a strange noise, initial inspection looked as though the exhaust was blowing. However I wasnt to sure about that so back at I home I investigated a little further and found the clutch had snapped

Thinking back, unlike my mates 700s the clutch has always engaged at a lower RPM but was always free when the engine was not running.

So once I get the rest of the ****** frame screws out I will reassemble and test.looks like the 600 will be the order of the day tomorrow

As I have a spare clutch already, that is what I will fit, but if this happens again then I will look elsewhere

When mine snapped I fitted a Quick UK clutch but after a hot start and fitting a new clutch bell, the clutch drag was too bad, even though it didn't look like the Quick UK clutch had been sprung. I then went back to a new Align clutch and have no clutch drag anymore plus I can buy 3 Align to 1 Quick UK.

            Stock clutches for me too.

At 35 quid a shot for the quick uk version I'll stick with the align issue thanks.

See I told you that exhaust was blowing. (WHOOPS) .

Well found mate, that could have ended in serious amounts of tears with damaged engine bearings and allsorts.

Any how all's well that ends well (happy days). Inverted auto's with the 600 tomorrow the mate.
