  • Trex600 ESP Question

Has anybody run Zippy Flightmax 22.2V 6S1P 30C (Constant, 40C Burst) 5000mAh batteries on one? If so how did the batteries go? Just looking at the kits and how reasonably priced they are but I know the decent batteries such as the FlightPower will set you back around £150-175ea whereas these Zippy batteries cost around £50-60. Bearing in mind the type of flying that would be performed is General to Sport, not 3D.

I'm using a Zippy 5000mA 25C on my stock 600e. I use it in a scale fus runnung about 1600 on the head. After 71/2 minutes, I put about 2.5A back in.

The Zippy batteries seem to have a pretty good rep in the US. That was one of the reasons I decided to try one.

Cheers, sounds brilliant. With the current prices on kits the 600ESP looks an option against the 500. I think the thing that put me mostly off was the price of Align/Flightpower batteries.

I used the turnigy 25c,they performed ok and come off cool but 5mins flying on 90% throttle took 4000mah out that take twice as long as the 500 lipo's to charge.

IMHO it just wasnt worth it,thats why i went nitro for the big birds

A 500 is perfect sized leccy heli, you wont be dissapointed

The 600 runs better on 8s.

The zippys are a good battery well worth the money.

We discussed that very topic in the latest podcast (35). http://rcfreakpodcast.net/

I bought my 5000Mah Turnigy packs from Hobby King, they are 35C packs. Onlly bought a couple as I always have other helis to fly, but they worked out around 80 quid a pack with postage (got caught on the VAT as well).

Mine flies great, but you need a good power source and charger of you want reasonable charging times. This is the only drawback over the 500, unless you want extreme 3D capability, then you may want to look at higher power systems. If you search around, you will find plenty of videos of people flying mild 3D and more on 6S.

                  Cheers,

                  Simon
