  • Best 700 canopy mounts?

Seems pretty tricky to remove the canopy without burning your fingers on the muffler so I think I'm going to get a set of these RC Booya quick release canopy mounts:

    Fast Lad Performance

Has anyone used them? Is there anything better out there?

I really like the RC Booya mounts. Used them on my 700 for a year but recently the threads almost simultaneously stripped. I'd go for the Quick UK variety

Have you got the new quick release ones? I've got the older version on my 500 as well and it works nicely -just wondering how this latest version is.

Ooops, guilty speed reading again...you are right the 500's are not quick release so I can't really ffer a valid comment.

            Good luck..

Maybe I'll get the Quick UK's instead -they're a third of the price for starters. Can anyone tell me if it's actually easier to remove the canopy with these? The stock mounts are very tight.

Having had both quick uk and booya without a shadow if a doubt booya will be on my machine any day as they are loads better quality.

I've got RC Booya (although not the quick release one's) on one 700 and Quick UK on the other, much prefer the Quick UK ones. And yes, easy enough to remove.

Which ones Ben? Quick release or standard? The Quick UK's are better quality IMO. The threads on the Booya's are a much higher pitch where as the Quick UK's are M3.

I've just fitted the quk ones to mine, got fed up of struggling to remove the canopy on the standard ones, quality wise they are great. £30 for a set of canopy mounts for the booya ones is crazy money!

Ditto. I have the Booya ones on my 600 and the QUK ones on my 700 - the Booya one are far better. I intend to replace the QUK supports as soon as I can.

The Quick UK mounts are great, there is no stressing to get the canopy off as the fixing is by a knurled screw with male thread. you simply undo the nut off the post and the canopy is free, no stressing over a spigot.

As the problem on the 700 appears to be with just the front ones and in particular the one by the exhaust, I put quick uk on the front but left the Align ones on the back.

Now should I have a massive smash I still have another complete set of canopy mounts.

                              I like Evo Andy's idea.

However, I have used a range of canopy mounts and just returned to using standard mounts for a number of reasons:

                              1. used in conjunction with the little metal clips, you go through less canopy rubbers than you do with any other form of screw mounts, Quick Uk etc.
                              2. No threads to strip.
                              3. Cheap to replace in event of crash.

They don`t look as good as after market ones, granted, but I`ve never had difficulty getting them on and off (just ream the canopy hole a fraction bigger if you do). Simple and very effective in my opinion.
