Throttle and pitch curves

Hope you can help me out, I have just got a trex 600 (second hand) and am just about to set the throttle and pitch.

Its a os 50 hyper and a dx7, no gov

I am used to +10 -10 on my raptor 50, but not sure what curves to set on the 600.

Any recomendations welcome, I think I want -10 to +10 on idle up 1 and 2, so its really just the throttle curves and what to put in for norm.

OK, I have just set it up mechnically, and i have about +13, -13.

What is the best way to electronically dial this down? using the pitch curves, or can I use travel adjust somehow

use the "swash mixing" menu.
Spektrum DX7: "SWASH MIX" page, "PIT." parameter

It's a matter of preference. I use 10..50..90 pitch curves for all flying modes, and a 0..50..100 curve in throttle hold. The additional pitch can come in handy for hang time, or when you want to kill headspeed (such as when forced to auto inverted all the way).

I set mine up a similar way - got the mechanical side of things equal both sides of centre stick.

I then just used the curves to tame it down (a lot). I'm running -2, 0, +10. Obviously you don't need to go quite so mad but if you move the bottom and top points and inhibit the intermediate points, i.e. points 2 and 4, you should get to the figures you want.

good point... for normal mode, raise the negative pitch side. -2 degrees sounds reasonable. For example, 40 40 50 70 90.
Reason: we don't want to suck the heli into the ground while spooling up. It might even disappear into the swamp, never to be seen again

........absolutely, and nice to have a bit of -ve in NORM mode in case the wind grabs her. I have 40/45/50/75/100, and dial it down with swash mix, currently at 60/60/60. Don't forget the D/R function - assign a switch on the TX to activate D?R on all 3 swash ch and set it when OFF to say 85%, and ON to 100%, for example.

but...

the servos do alot of buzzing, is this normal or am I putting them under strain?
eg if i put on 3/4 throttle they are buzzing away, but if i go to middle stick on throttle i can get the buzzing to stop

sounds as if you may have maxed out the mechanical side of things a little early

what servos are they ?

If they are DS610 then 'they all do that sir'

I bought a s/h T600N with DS610s on cyclics and they were buzzing away to themselves at low, mid and high stick, no binding or anything like that, they just buzzed..

They do buzz, but check for binding. Also having tight links makes them go nuts

There is no binding, they just buzz.

I am happy enough there is no damage being done

Yeah I thought my Fut 3152s (I think that's what I have) were knackered, until Lee kindly pointed out that most digital servos buzz anyway

But yeah, as others have said, still check them for binding if you haven't. They will buzz more than normal, just like an analogue servo would
