  • spares and tools

just started flying nitros as opposed to electric and thought i had most spare items covered to start with, what else would you reccomend i need.
    I have the following
    12v battery,starter, fuel pump,spare torque gears,
I thought i had it all covered last weekend only to find i needed a no8 glow plug apparently these go quite often? are there any other items i should keep to hand?
    Thx Ross

Sounds about right, maybe some tail blades.

I dont keep that much spares anymore as I can get them next day

Some decent hex drivers if you havent got them.

+1 on the hex drivers, my tip there is buy 2 sets! FX shafts etc.

Keeping fuel tube handy is a good idea, spare glow plugs, some oil and rags is all i can think of now

+1 on baby wipes. A small table or a bit of carpet. And if your flying is like mine a bin bag.
                Cheers Adam

Remember a nitro vibrates a lot more that an electric, so it is a good idea to get a full set of tools (decent Allen Keys - eg Hudy), and nut drivers / spanners for all the nuts on the heli. Also, a spare glow plug is useless with out a glow plug spanner to change it with. A small bottle of locktite also, in case you have to remove and replace any screws / bolts at the field. A decent battery checker is also not a bad idea.
