Ok things are getting a little fraught here!!

Decided to replace the clunk line and clean the clunk. Now I cannot get the stuff back in without pushing the rubber washer/seal back into the tank each time. There has to be a knack to this, and I have obviously done it before...........that is what is annoying!!!!!!!

I put the bung on the feed nipple as if it were in the tank then I ease the whole lot in, usually using a little water just to give it a bit of lubrication.
      All the best

As Tony says, put the bung on the nipple, then force in slowly but surely with a large flat bladed screwdriver. It's tight but will go without damage.

Make sure you have the bung assembled with the clunk line and clunk and tank sealing grommet loose on the clunk line then Press the grommet into the tank, then using a hex wrench or screw driver run it around the grommet making sure the grove is press into the tank. Next using a little lubrication on the bung, a little oil or fuel push the bung in on a slight angle and then twist it into the grommet/tank.

          Hope this helps
          Thanks!

Yep, that's the way I always to it, it sounds crazy, but it works fine, and saves a heli or two getting kicked around the field in frustration.

Why does it always persist down at weekends ?

I had exactly the same problem, in the end I put the bung washer in first, then put some alchocol cleaner onto the nipple section, I found this acted as a suitable lubricant and the alchocol evaporated off, i thought about using grease but was concerned that the grease may contaminate the fuel??
