  • still no mid range :(

i still cant get any midrange power, any time u load the head it just kills the headspeed, so much that my ely q with a os50 feels like it has more grunt!!!!!!!!

its a os 91 cspec with a omi pumped carb, running 30% rapicorn, align gov teamed with a futaba 3152 running at 6v set at 80% on the atv

top end power is mental, climbs like a rocket, but the moment u even load the head its just drops away

my mixture needle is at 3o'clock on the engine, else its wont idle
if i wind the mid range out is a bitch to spool up with now pwer, lean it and it spools up ok, still loads of smoke, but still no power in the middle, lean out more, spools up even better but still no power in the middle, got curoius and checked to see how far in i actually got before i cld spool up, i was just under a quarter turn out

    surely that cant be right?

Well, to be honest, I aint really got a clue.
But Ill have a wild guess anyway
If you changed the main gear and or pinion and had a slightly slower head speed wouldn't that reduce the load on the engine and make it less likely to bog down when stressed ?

Like I said I aint really got a clue. Just bumping ya thread

Are you absolutely sure you're using the correct needles. . . . other people have been confused before about which needle is the high and which is the mid, check the manwell

Why does it always persist down at weekends ?

Think im about 1.5 out on the main and im a quarter/half out on the mid, anything higher and its a pig to spool up

have you removed the needles to check for any crap in the carb?

Am gonna have a tinker tonight, or tomorrow, need to change then bearing on the main shaft, so ill check it all at once, cld just be a faulty pump, coz sometimes my rpm hunts, cld be a split clunck
