Another hijack, but may be of use to Spunkmyer: Can anyone point me in the direction of a beginners guide to breaking in and tuning a 90 engine such as the OS 91 HZ (or Align carbon-copy)? I understand the 2-needle system on an OS 50 Hyper (well, sort of!) and am interested what differences lie in the bigger engines with more complicated, 3-needle, carbs.

Ok, so far spunkmeyer knows he needs to get engine, muffler, throttle servo, rx but what else would ppl recommend as potential upgrades to common problems like the canopy mount recommendation? Is the tail issue worth changing to the quick uk tailgrips and hub etc??
Have fun with the build! Hope all goes well matey

The most commonly recommended upgrade seems to be using these (with some M3 bolts) instead of the collar bolts on the frame:

        Fast Lad Performance

Yes but go for the li ron Heli products ones.

          Far superior IMO.

Also I prefer the rcbooya canopy mounts to the quk ones

I just went for the Fast Lad ones because they were quicker to get hold of. What makes the Liron ones better?

Liron ones come with stainless fastners. (I wouldnt fit them myself, if they are not HT I dont want to know!) 31 USD (about 17 quid + postage).

An alternative I keep mentioning (I think some have too much money to burn) is this:

                HR1134-SLV - Metal C Washers and Screws (10pcs) -SILVER - Trex700

Also available in blue and purple 2.99 USD per pack of 10 on 4 or more packs.

You need 44 (5 packs) to do the whole heli, I think it worked out at 11 quid plus postage. I know of at least 3 people using these without complaints.

While your at it, you might want to consider replacing the tail grip bolts (70p form modelfixings.co.uk) rather than spending 50 quid on a new quk tail hub.....

                All IMHO, YMMV

I bought the Liron ones and prefere the Fastlad samples by far.

The ones from Liron are far too deep IMO especially behind the aileron bell crank where it is impossible to function with the Liron product without fouling the servo horn.

                  Your choice.
