Swapped my gyro

Did a swap last week with Mark Lane - my GP750 for his GY401.

"What are you nuts?!" I hear you all cry? Perhaps, but I never really got along with the GP750. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with the gyro but, fiddle and tweak as I might, I just couldn't get the tail of my 600 to behave as I wanted it.

So I've just fitted the GY401 in its place.

Let's see how that fares if the weather holds out for flying tomorrow.

Oh - Mark Lane's a good guy to deal with too. Got the gyro in quick time - woulda been quicker were it not for the weather in these parts.

i have a 401 on my 600 and works fine rock solid

My whole fleet, 450, 500 and 600 all now have a 401.

I call it fleet standardisation.

i swapped the 401 for the 750 on my rappy mainly because i had a ds620 on the tail and it was a good result .the matched pair are holding a lot better but i haven't tried the 401 with the 9254/9257 it will be intresting to see if you do get a better result.

Mmm very interesting, might be swapping my 401 for the 750 just for the ease of setting it up. Am I crazy or is the 401 just as easy to set up.

I dunno - I just seem to "click" with the 401.

It's gonna be driving a DS620 on my 600. Let's see how that fairs. If it doesn't fair too well, I'll be after swapping a 620 for a 9254!

I had a 401 and ds 620 on my 600 for about a week, hated it with a passion, stuck a spartan on it, never looked back, with the 401 on it, god u shld of seen the wags i cld get it to do, turn dwn the gain but wldnt hold, turn back up, i cld get the most voilent wag ever dueing high speed stops lol never using a 401 again

You guy's are mad. The GP750 is a MUCH better gyro than the 401

750 is a better gyro but it has Align written on it so it's doomed.

When I started in this hobby three or so years ago, the 401 was the natural choice for most people, matched with a good servo it worked well, and was only a real problem if you were a very talented pilot and could push it to its limits. Obviously technology has moved on, but few people entering the hobby enter at the highest level and therefore the 401 will work fine, I have three 401s and think they are fine, but like others have bought more compact gyros for newer machines.
I have a GP750, but have put it on my 250 as I hated it on my 600
