  • Todays flying

Had a realy great days flying today at clutton.
Xygax, Mark Budd Myself & Raptorite were in attendance.
I eventualy got the 600 le running for a couple of tanks to run the new OS 55 in on it.
The start of the second flight was quite eventfull when the exhaust fell off,
dont bother running the align paper gaskets that now come with the align pipe, useless is the word i'd use for them
My best flying was left to the trusty 700, just love the thing now
& it no longer scares me like it used to.
I am beggining to bring my phoenix abilities into my real life flying, lets just hope the crashes stay only on phoenix tho.
All in all a realy top day had with me nailing fast elevator ticktocks
& my first proper slowish aileron ticktock.
Inverted piros were also tried today which is something else that scared me last year.
I also had some extended inverted hovering at 50ish foot
this is what i promised to work on this year as i normaly bottle it after a few seconds

Nice one Martin.... sounds like you had a great session

We had a nice day at Charlton too but it was sooo cold. Some good flying by all though and great company as usual.

My brain was so frozen though i could hardly speak let alone fly (i suffer the cold, theres no meat on me!! LOL) I'm still thawing out now.

Moonmanflyerbuildercrasherbuyerbuilder totalled his 600pro which was a real shame. A dumb thumb moment not assisted by the cold

He flew the socks off the TZ though so not phased by the whoopsie... nice

Roll on the spring though...... shudder!!

Been out flying my 700 myself today Martin.

As you say they are fantastic and I love mine too.

The sheer presence of the thing in the air with the power and noise they make is awesome.

I hear what you are saying about the sim Martin, Some time back I made myself a promise....

If I can do it on the sim then do it in the field come hell or high water.

99.9% of the time you bet your life it will be a success mate..

Just do it with the attitude "if I bin it then so be it"

If you go shit scared then you are holding back and it won't happen.

Good luck mate, I know you can do it.

                      Yes, sounds so easy Tim!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am not scared of the heli, just lack the skill and confidence just to have a dash and prove to myself that I CAN do it.

Was a good day, sort of, loving the TZ even though i did back off a bit due to totalling the pro on my first flight of the day, my first dumb thumb for over 6 months.
The TZ is awsome and loving it even more, practised some set manovers and getting there with them so all in all happy.
But now i have a spare hangar space to fill.....lol. 3D with my lads raptor 30 was fun too....lol
My main shout of the day i think will go to Geek.
You flew your socks off today mate, well well done, very impressive

Well done, sounds like you had a good day.
I didn't get out today after all I got my Knight finished yesterday and intended on flying today, but decided to repair my Trex which I crashed the other day, usual things; tail boom, flybar and mainshaft, blade grips, surprising thing was the feather shaft was ok, and the Jesus bolt had broken in 2 places, either side of the main shaft!! So that was a joy trying to pull the shaft out of the head block, as the jaggedy bit of bolt just didn't want to come out! Got it done eventually though, hopefully if the weather is good I will get my Trex's and Knight out tomorrow

Thanks James that is as hard as I can fly?
but not in the league of Mark Lane, you ( moonmanflyer ) and Stu Spankey Smith
I think I was forth in the flying today

Got to get the inverted tail down thing sorted ( you put me of that one today )
                              Thanks again
