I am also keen to see how this goes and try one, certainly wont be short of normal user reviews by the sounds of it.
Seems as expected the thing putting people off fbl was the price.
I am a very happy V bar flier but i really hope with all my heart that this Align sytem works well as i am convinced of the benefits of fbl in general so the cheaper the systems the better,i have a horrible feeling that Mikado will not drop their prices in a hurry as they claim its a premium system and manufacturing costs are high so hopefully the Align system will be so good it will force them too..
Flybarless is good and its the future,Align getting this to the market is a win win situation for everybody.
As i have said before,my V bar 600N flies the pants off my new 600LE,there are gonna be an awful lot of happy Align fliers now and if you thought they flew well before just wait till you try them fbl.
I strongly advise everyone to wait until we hear how well it works first though as if they have not got the software correct it will be a dog to fly, dont go by the factory videos.
Got this off rcheliresource;

Looks like one retailer MAY have the jump on everyone else. RCHeliGears is taking pre orders and has listed their retail pricing. Looks like they are stocking all three models for sale on Jan 8, 2010.
$333.00 T-Rex 500
$360.00 T-Rex 600
$416.00 T-Rex 700"
Considering it comes with everything needed, that is a bit of a bargain..

Although it's hard to see how such a simple set-up procedure can deliver the flexibility needed for all styles and abilities? I guess we'll see...

This is my concern Gaui also do a fbl system and i think its widely accepted that although it can be made to look impressive on the whole its pretty limited i hope the Align system is up with Skookum and V bar as opposed to nearer the Gaui end of performance.
The word has it that the units sent out to sponsored pilots will be none adjustable but production units should have more scope for adjustment!
I'm guessing the prototypes have been sent out to find what adjustment facility would be required to suit different styles.

Yes, I agree again having started my FBL journey using a Gaui GU-365 and owing to this experience I made the previous comment. Whilst it is fine for the basic stuff it demostrates very well how a basic setup procedure leads to basic performance! I then had a spate with Gyrobot (which is brilliant BTW).
Like everyone else I am very keen to see what magic Align have cast with their effort and am sure it will be very robust and capable; flexible - remains to be seen.
I maintain that the VBar is top marks and predict that it will remain so for some time whilst all others observe and learn.
I tried one of the Gaui units a while ago and found it very disappointing. I'm sure Align's product will be a lot better but I do think one of the nice things about flybarless systems is the ability to alter the way your heli flys by making adjustments to the software settings i.e. like the VBar system or similar (none of which I have actually tried).
