I'm having a bit of trouble getting the grommets into the canopy. Anyone got any tips -is it best to glue the black reinforcement rings to the canopy first and then install the grey rubber grommets?

Thats how i did it but the black spacers came adrift anyway taking a bit of paint with them.

I would just insert them both together without glue. The slight room for movement may well help reduce stress cracking too IMO.

I used Quick UK canopy mounts top and bottom too as the standard was too stiff and with the Quick items the canopy is nicely secured (and i picked the blue anodised as i'm a tart!!LOL)

I use no glue but when I put them in I use a 1.5mm hex driver to poke them in gently and have no probs that way.

        Also another little tip:
The 700 rubber grommets are really tough and are a bugger to insert without cracking the Canopy so i always place them in a glass of freshly boiled water for a couple of minutes right before i want to fit them...softens them up a bit
