  • 700LE tail linkage rod...

The rod that goes from the servo to the rudder control, inside the carbon tube.... has anyone secured the tube to the rod somehow? e.g. some epoxy inside the tube and then slide the rod in. Is this kind of thing necessary or just a waste of time? I'm just wondering whether it's going to rattle around a bit if it's not secured. I can't see it causing any problem as such but I just don't really like the idea of any extra vibration even if it's very small.

Heatshrink on each end of the outer rod and shrink on to the plastic ball link.

    Very secure with no rattling.

What exactly is the point of the carbon tube?

Mine is also heat-shrunk on to stop it rattling, but I can't really understand why I need it at all - doesn't seem to serve and purpose.

Yeah I thought it might be overkill but I guess there's definitely no chance of the rod flexing with the carbon on there.
