  • The mark everyones got...

On the bottom edge of the SF mixer arm there is a little mark on the bottom of the long side.

with about 8 degrees of negative and a fair bit of cyclic it hits - so that mark is there for everyone that does a roll or flip.

The force on the link is sideways so it doesn't try to pop the link off.
I'm tempted to file a bit off the arm and see if my 600 flies a little straighter afterward. Anyone done that?

I've noticed this as well. If you have a look at a Pro rather than a superpro the plastic SF levers get a groove worn into them after a while. With Metal arms the back of the plastic link can become heavily worn.

A very slight mark also on my 500 - but nothing like as bad.
One of my 600s has plastic and one metal and I noticed it on the plastic first.
Obvously I could take some metal off to get clearance - as the metal one must be a fair bit stronger than the plastic.

Not sure how you could get round this. The design is such that everything moves a long way even the servos thus magnifying any play in the control system. I think it is just the Align design and responsible for its wayward tendancies?.

I've shortened the SF levers to increase Pitch travels but all it did was wear a grove a little more inboard..LOL

My next thought is to use a pair of lower mixers from the washout in place of the upper SF's as they look to have more travel available to the blade grip for the same degree of tilt.

I think Britflyer (Paul) is running an Outrage head on a 600 as is Davie (Glasgow) Not sure what if any other mods are required.

I think the high radio travel %'s required on an Align and long mechanical travels may possibly hurt its resolution due to control play.
