  • 600 Going in and out of Track

For the last couple of months I have noticed the blades go in and out of track. I've changed everything. Still it happens and sometimes not the same amount. I've changed all of the head components except for the headblock, any ideas anyone

    * is there any play, when you pull the feathering shaft by a blade grip to either side? This may happen, when dampers are worn (probably you changed them, too, not sure).

    * It might be a busted bearing inside a blade grip. This can actually get quite nasty, when it locks only under load (happened to me in the 550).

    * It could be a loose flybar paddle.

    * Have you also tried different blades?

I agree, All of the above is suspect but I rather fancy dampers for the first change Dave.

also check the thrust bearings, if you didn't change them. Those balls get smaller and smaller and smaller...

          * It could be a loose flybar paddle. They are tight and in line

          * Have you also tried different blades? I've tried different blades but from the same manufacturer
I think I'll go through it again with a fine tooth comb. I'm obviously missing something, Sometimes it doesn't do it at all.

              I reckon:
Damper are the first suspect -I still think the latest align offering even with the spindle sleeve is very short lived (3 flights and I had end to end slop) - try the K&BDD yellows (not the orange). I'm getting good life on those.
Try a different set of blades (borrowed?)
I'm also told the grip bearings are particularly critical (but you should be able to feel a problem here).
Presume you rolled the feathering spindle on a mirror - or changed it anyway.

I have a set of 600 night blades that will track on one head assembly, but not on the other. The only difference in the two is the one that won't track has plastic mixer arms.
Normal blades are no problem on both heads.
Perghaps aggressive rearward c of g blades need metal top mixer arms on the 600n.

I had this with a set of Torsion blades on an Airskipper.

                  Changed blades and no problem.

Funny, because the same Torsion blades worked well on the Rappy until I ditched it!!

you could also look for any possible reason, why the flybar (seesaw) might get stuck. It would take a lot of friction, though.

No play on the head that I could find. Where exactly are you thinking?

I had same problem turned out to be a bad set of dampers which were brand new. Put another new set in and it sorted the problem. (were genuine align parts) That was probably the big mistake should have used the k&b upgrade.

sees there are some truebloods that are more popular than the KBDD, I would have tried them if I could have found them in stock.
