Sorry for sounding thick,but does this 2in1 reg/switch glow eleminate the need for a sperate glow starter?

If so,is it easy going on the lipo?

As I believe, yes. It will provide regulated voltage to the RX, 1.5v glow power, ignition switch and Batt monitor.

If it all works, sounds almost too good to be true, which is precisely why I am trying to canvass opinion on the thing!!

Yes, both units heat the glow being powered from the Rx battery. Both also only heat the glow for abotu 20 seconds - enough to start the heli I have seen both running at my club and they perform well.

One thing i have done is to abandon the Align battery that comes with the unit (i was only getting 3-4 flights after about 10 cycles of the battery). I use a Loong max 2250 7.4v battery and get about 8 flights. Other good brands are available

Thanks guys,got a new one here,came this am from fast lad,not looked at it yet....sounds cool...think i will upgrade at a later date to a BIG lipo

I've got these on botjh my 600n. Work great.
Only problem I've had is the croc clip broke off the wire on one and I've also had s problem with corrostion of the croc clip making it hard to get a contact (cured by filing the croc clip).
The sort of connection thats on the end of most romote glow leads seems more reliable.

The croc clip lead is a bit short - I've exteneded mine.

The led indicator is extrememly pessimistic - after stoping 'cos its on the last led my cellpro charger says there is still almost 50% in the pack.

I've found this true, normally stop when i've no greens left however never seen the battery level below 40%
Great bit of kit however - Never caused me any issues. From what i've seen as long as you keep fuel out of the switch your ok

Oh yea forgot about that,dont get the batt with the unit,do yourself a favour and buy a decent capacity pack.

So where would be the optimum place to mount the switch to prevent ingress of fuel? On many pics, the switch is just next to the fuel tank!!!!!!!!!!

Mine is always on the other side to the exhaust and up the front as this area always stays clean.

Fired mine up on the 600 yesterday,im loving the on board glow

I have put my switch up front,im toying with putting a small hole in the canopy to get my pinky in to the switch so i dont have to take the canopy off.

Is this what peeps do?

I use these in all my Nitros.

I did have a switch go on an earlier model but that was down to getting fuel in it.

They work really well IMO and are fuss free to use.

I would say to use the LED system with caution, especially if using different RX packs.

I agree with the battery indicator, its only a rough guide but useful all the same
