I currently have a 600N and am toying with the idea of a 700. Just wondering how the reliability compares with a 600N -my 600 has been almost perfect in that respect. Just wondering how many people have had crashes caused by component failure in flight?

i sold my 700 at 6 months old due to its poor reliability
but with all the parts that let the model down it never caused a crash
and the model had never been crashed
they do fly very well
but after buying a good quality heli i'll not go back to oneHirobo Turbulence D3

Not flown mine much, probably a dozen times & bar
the boom supports which work loose it's been a joy to own.
The bonus for me was the spares prices over my JR airskipper
thats what made me buy it fortunately I've not tested the quality of
it's crash resistance yet.

the t rex 700 is a good heli ive had no trouble atall with either of mine this is not really a good question to ask on a forum as you get alot of anti align people. all i can say is go to shows like 3d masters and so on and see what heli out numbers the rest and also see what brand out numbers the rest. basically if you like the 700 then buy one.
please dont think that just because all my helis are now align thats why i like them because its not ive had alot of brands but align is nice and cheap you get two of each part in the pack this is only on the main crash items. ive had too many shelf queens and i fly the align fleet.

>> tail blade grip sheered off
the same for me - that one got expensive.
It had been crashed before, though, so I can't blame Align for this.
Boom support screws come loose, as has been mentioned.
The push rod needs careful taping, then I think it should be reliable. I believe BTW that this was the reason for the abovementioned first crash.
Ball links have a bad reputation, I changed the ones in the head for QuickUK.
My 600 NSP has a flawless track record (OK once a tail drive gear stripped in flight), until two weeks ago, when the CF tail boom snapped without warning. Since it's the same type of boom on the 700, I'd recommend to not overtighten the boom support clamp. That's where it broke...
Both are great helis, IMO. I wish the weather would permit more flying here.Woohoohoohoohoohoohoohoohoohoohoo -Barbra Streisand

All my current helis are Align as well (250, 450, 500, 600N) and my experience has been absolutely brilliant with them all -just wondering if I'm likely to be as pleased with the 700 as I got the impression that they were wlightly more prone to failure (maybe that's just because of the initial problems with main gears and ball links which from what I've read seem to have been solve).Originally posted by 3d_willz View Postthe t rex 700 is a good heli ive had no trouble atall with either of mine this is not really a good question to ask on a forum as you get alot of anti align people. all i can say is go to shows like 3d masters and so on and see what heli out numbers the rest and also see what brand out numbers the rest. basically if you like the 700 then buy one.

So, I'm mainly interested in how the 700 compares to other Aligns, not for example a JR or a Kasama.

As Mark pointed out in post#5 you will always get the "Anti Align" brigade out who will give a negative response but on a personal note I have had very little trouble regarding reliability.
I think if everyone was honest you can say no model is totally trouble free even at the top end expensive models "ie" Avant Aurora and the new Srimok.
As for comparison against the 600, Ive had plenty of 600's and TBH they were great too.

Ok well thanks for the replies -if the 700 is in the same ballpark of quality/reliability as a 600 then that's good enough for me. I suppose the other thing I'm wondering is for those who have a 600N and a 700, do you still fly the 600 much? -I'd probably have to sell my 600 to fund the 700 so.... er.... would I miss it?
Obviously the fuel cost is an issue but lets assume I'm not bothered about that.

Put it like this, ive got one ive been flying it and I wouldnt mind a second one.
as for align reliability, my 600 hase been unbelievably reliable, ive had goodness knows how many flights and the only thing ive had go on it is Ive knackered an auto bearing. All the best

maingears by the bucket full
it was from the bendy link era and when i put the quick uk links on it i found a cracked link end
bearings
boom stays
the frames didn't line up to each other
the tail blade holder cracked (no i didn't hit the tail down)
cheese bolts were a pain when i needed to keep pulling it apart
i had a couple of the align rods bent in flight throwing the tracking out
the govenor didn't work
the auto hub kept locking up
i can't remember what else
i was a true dissapointment as i thought align would have learnt from the early mistakes from the first 600's
my kit was total rubbish
and as for anti align no
i just don't like buying under developed rubbish with poor quality
and i still have my 450se v1
you see so many about due to the excellent align marketing
as i've already said they do fly well and i hope the kit quality has improved over mine
and as for cheap spares look at the total spares costs, yes the main crash items are cheap but some of the other spares aren't so cheap compared to the other brands
and cheap doesn't meen economical to ownHirobo Turbulence D3

Yes that's the one and only problem I've had with mine and it didn't cause a crash either.Originally posted by Sesame View Postas for align reliability, my 600 hase been unbelievably reliable, ive had goodness knows how many flights and the only thing ive had go on it is Ive knackered an auto bearing.
