  • Even Bert Kammerer has a 700 E Now

Here's what he posted on HF

Short video, crazy power on 12s with Ray's conversion.
    Hey guys,

Been playing around with T-Rex 700 converted with Ray Nemovi's conversion kit. Nothing super fancy, pretty standard setup; Neu 1515 1.5y with Kontronik Power Jazz and TP packs, running old packs for now, but should be getting new 45C's here shortly. Can't wait to try with those.

Ray's kit is very simple, no frame change required, just drill 6 holes with templates he provides and you're good to go. Also, motor shaft is supported by upper bearing block, this prevents main gear from stripping.

Head speed with 20T pinion is 2390 at 80% throttle, need to slow it down though to a safer speed

I'm more interested in the Avant Aurora E which will be cheaper than the nitro and include a motor in the box (Scorpion I think). A friend has a 700E and it definately comes in the awesome bracket plus it does pretty well on two cheap Zippy 6S lipos.

I've seen Eagle Tree traces on 700E's that regularly hit 3800W, thats around 5bhp, makes the 91 motors available look a bit feeble

I dont know much about 90's and less about lecky conversions but 2390 at 80% throttle surely means the gearing is a little out - surely you want to be running at 100% ish to minimise losses in the ESC?

Very impressive power with what seems like no bogging

I've had ESC cutoffs with mine at 140 amps and 50 V... that's close to 7 kW electrical :-) needless to say, power is crazy (if a bit heavy).
