  • NSP build question

Just a quicky (to start with). Have built up the main frame and turned the page to find there are extra bits to go on, mixture servo mount switch mount etc. Having loctited everthing as I gone on, do I need these extras on the front of the frame?

    Cheers

In short, yes you do. The same goes for the stiffeners on the back.

I didn't use the mixture servo mount but I did modify it to make two identical doublers for the forward frames. Click here for details.

Cheers lads! A note in the manual would of been nice instead of turning the page to find I goto undo work already loctited. Having read on your thread Mart about someones frames going Ill definately fit all strengtheners.

        Cheers

It would have been good for a little note eh? Mind you, somewhere in the manual it probably states we should have read the full manual prior to commencing the build.

                        Hey there,

I too am part way through my 600 LE build. Exciting eh?!?! Any pics of your bird yet? By that I mean your heli but if you want to share other pics......

Just make sure you connect the pressure pipe from the top of the tank to the muffler. When I built my 700 I couldn't see that anywhere in the manual and my muffler didn't come with a manual. I ended up doing my maiden flight without this pipe which resulted in me killing the piston and sleeve on my first nitro engine. Boooo!

Other than that just enjoy and make sure everything is loctited. Check that all screws are still good after every flight, my 700 still manages to shake some loose even after loctiting.

Here is a great thread about how to treat your nitro engine, really helped me.

Pardon my ignorance but what is scotch tape?

Also is it absolutely necessary for the boom clamp?

                          Cheers

Scotch tape... Its just a trade name. Any tape will do. I think i used some black fabric tape... its all that i had at the time.

Its a good idea to put a band around the boom where the clamp goes, it will stop it from rotating. measure it up to the clamp so its i tidy fit without loads hanging outside of the clamp when mounted. better to do it during the build than to find it has moved in flight and then needing to take it apart.
