  • Trex 700 maingears...still a probelm...?

    Hi

Are there still problems with main gears stripping on 700's or has it been solved now. Are there any upgrades needed to reduce this problem..??

    Thanx
    Ken

the reason you probably don't hear of it atm is it's not cold enough yet to be a major problem again. the best cure is to either do one, or both of the following.

    1. use the new -1 gear align make.
    2. ditch the bolts that hold engine and clutch assy in place with some normal m3 bolts with washers. this will allow you to set the mesh yourself and also you junk the bolts that will strip on you....brucey bonus.

    cheers

Got 2x T-Rex 700's and since upgrading heli 1 to the Mod1 gear never any problems at all.

The latest 700LE has the upgrade in the box so as yet trouble free in this house.

Mine has the original gear in it from new, and the heli is 6 months old now. The chap i bought it from swapped out the standard engine mountingbolts and put M3's in their place and its been fine.

I say go for it and enjoy what the 700 has to offer
