Bought myself a 700 nitro about a month ago. This was my first foray into the world of nitro so wasn't really sure what to expect. The build went well but had it's moments. The engine really frustrated me as I had many issues with getting the parts on and off the main shaft of the engine. I also made a bit of a mistake in that I didn't see anywhere in the manual about the pressure pipe from the tank to the muffler so on my maiden flight I managed to destroy the piston, ring and sleeve. All got some nice scoring and then the engine wasn't making enough compression to start but was getting lots of smoke from the pipe. In the end I bought a new engine and the old one is with a mate who is trying to see if it can be fixed or not. Now that I have everything setup right though I am enjoying it loads. So much power and so agile. Had a bit of a stupid moment last week and forgot about checking the fuel level, it was my first idle up flight and ran out of fuel. Not sure why the engine came back to life and screamed it's head off though but checked over and flew yesterday and it's perfect so not to worry. So far the pain of the journey has been worth the destination and I can start enjoying it.
