This could result from the fin or better landings. Probably both.

I added some CF rod to the bottom of my tailfin to give a bit more clearance between the tailblades and the ground.

The only time ive broken a TT on landing is when doing my first autos.

I've crashed my belt-drive Raptor about 5 or 6 times now. Each time I've had to replace the tail boom and supports but never the belt or any component associated with the tail drive system. I've also fitted larger carbon fins to prevent tail rotor strike and can recommend it strongly (I used a simple aluminium sheet as a temporary measure).

My 600pro had half a torson315 blade as a tail fin for a while.
Now it has a knight3D tail fin - a bit longer than the std 600 one and doesn't come with the unwanted horizontal stab so is much cheaper.
(though its now been snapped twice, in situtations it couldn't be expected to survive, and grafted with broken bits of rotorblade to fix it).

One of my recent crashes the tail case came off the boom and was flung 20 yards. perhaps a belt will restrain it a bit nearer the impact point

Yeah I remember that bad crash you had Martin.

          Gordon.

I had one fitted to my 600nsp all the while I practiced for my "B" test.

Certainly helped when practicing the 4 point piro and landing.

Fits straight on mate and not a bit of difference when flying.

Not noticeably after the initial bedding in. After stuffing my 600 in tail first on Sunday the tail gearbox is a write off and it's going back to belt drive, much more robust and the difference it makes in auto's is barely perceptible. I'm sure the belt will still be going strong long after I'd have stripped a bevel gear or two.
