700 servo screws

Any ideas where i can get some decent quality servo screws for the 700? I know RC screws do a set but they don't include the self tapper variety.

I had to remove a servo the other night and one of the screws rung requiring me to drill it out, i don't want this to be the case everytime i need to do any work.

I was using a new quality allen key so it wasn't poor tools to fault.

any advance greatly appreciated

is there anything available to replace the shouldered screws for the frames???

Yes - very expensive all in shouldered titanium screws or various versions of s shouldered washer. The cheapest I found kits out a whole 700 for about 11 quid, including the M3 bolts. I posted a link in one of the threads in this section of the forum a few times, but I'll need to dig it out for you.

Screw drivers will last a long time or the Align screws? Personally after having to grind a couple of screws out, I would opt for the washers, certainly after seeing the mess it can make to get them out.

Good quality tools are always useful of course irrespective of which heli you work on

The screwdrivers shown below and the Hirobo screws. I can't comment on how long Align screws will last as I haven't got any.

Andy, I think we are on about different things, yes, JIS screwdrivers for JIS screws (cross headed) every time, but I was on about the M3 hex screws in the frame. Even with new allen bits they strip, current thinking is the bond between teh flat and the carbon of the frame when screwed in. Either way - the shouldered washers are the fix for it

Oops! lol. Yes I had heard of this.

What is a current source of annoyance to me is how manufactures don't follow recognised engineering practice of putting a washer under every bolt head or nut.

A chap from Israel called Liron does a complete special kit for the Trex 600/700 tp replace the shoulder screws. I've got a set sitting here ready for my 600. Can't remember the website but if you google Liron heli products you should find him.

I got a set from Liron in Israel and they were ok but Fastlads do them next day

A fellow club memeber bought a trex 700
He bought also:

RCSCREWZ + New upgraded CNC washers for the.

He assembled and 20 mins later realisedhed done something wrong. He tried to undo the rcscrew but it was stuck. I dremelled it out for him. The screw was stuck pretty tight to the washer (maybe locktite).

What i did notice was the washer was tight in the hole it went into. so i agree here with jiberjaber.

Really annoying.

As a side note. I have used rcsrewz and am not impressed. They also rounded very easy in the trex 700.
