  • 700N and RC Trucks don't mix

This happened at the field last Thursday!

As you can see, the first is a gouge down to the fg the second pulled the mounting post out of the fg and broke the mounting stud into the frame.

I could repair it, but the paint would never match up, freehand work and transparent paints (They get darker with each layer!).

The culprit has paid for another canopy and will foot the bill for any extra paint that I need. I will say he's good to his word on this.

It happened when setting the motor in his truck up, he brought it back to the pits, turned it and it didn't turn, it slid into the side of my 700. I will say it was not intentional and a pure accident. Everyone has now been told, no trucks in the pit area (We have a small area of the field where they race away from the heli's).

I never repeat a design, so now I have to come up with another new design.

Haven't seen that one, I wasn't even airborne. In fact I hadn't even taken off the canopy cover and the blades were still folded back into the caddy.

In fact I was the only person to fly that day (Bit windy for some lol) and was looking forward to taking the 700 up.

That would be funny if it was in context, but it isn't!

              My airbrushed canopy.

              Blank Canopy - £25
Initial cost of paint - £100
              Clear coat - £20
5 days of work to produce it.

To be written off by truck that shouldn't have been there.

I never bother to paint them. Guess why (hint: not because of trucks).

That video is stupid and why I hate the majority of people on youtube. Total waste of money on a perfectly good helicopter. Not only that but done in a populated area aswell? Stupid.

Yes... if I'm forgiven the off-topic comment here I believe the mainstream internet is going the same route as the old Romans: Violence, blood and sex attracts the masses. The smallest common denominator.

With few exceptions I have stopped reading "mainstream" comments, and don't expect people to actually read my comments (which then remain unwritten). Best of all, say something unpopular and it gets voted down and thereby censored.
Wrecking a toy helicopter... well... it's just childish. But this one talent nelosella 4.10.2009 made me think (probably it's a fake, but it's not marked as such).

I'm actually considering to remove my own videos from youtube (mostly piano teaching stuff). I haven't completely decided on my position, but my gut feeling is that it is not right to show videos of people getting killed or injured for enjoyment, and ultimately to earn money for youtube.

so rather than bitching and moaning about it to anyone that will listen, why not approach the club commitee about it and put forward to either ban them from your flying club (the emphasis here is firmly on flying), or at the very least make sure they are driven in to or out of the pits. Do something to stop it happening again!

A committee member has now told everyone that there is to be no driving trucks into the pit area, as I stated in the first post!!!

I can understand the annoyance snapshot. I used to fly in a club that had these things flying round the pits and on the strip. I had one too but never took it down the field. needless to say I left that club. rumour has it there is quad bikes flying around the place now. shame as I liked the club on the whole.
