  • Swash Wobble

While slowing down my blades after flying my 700 I noticed the swash wobbles just a bit when the head is turning. I can see a small amount of movement at the servo horns on the tri-plate. Its not noticeable in flight. Took off the blades and can feel the swash moving from side to side when turning the head by hand.

It seems like the main shaft is bent. Thing is the heli has never been crashed so thought I'd ask to see if anyone has any other ideas before I buy a new main shaft. Has anyone else noticed this? Wondering if a small amount of runout to be expected...

quick and easy cheack, pull the complete head and swash assembly off of the machine, remove the tail blades, and then run the engine up. you only need the main shaft to turn very very slowly so dont rev the nuts off it - you could damage the engine easily with no load. Look at the top of the mainshaft from above, any bends will be blatantly obvious, you could check with a run out guage/dial indicator if you wanted to be really anal!
