The vbar setup took some working out in my head first - but having done it twice now post crash it takes less head scratching.

If you get stuck - just shout. Have you watched the mini vids ?
    Cheers

Ok so after some mucking about to get my VBar working, (Probably a user error ) my new Flybarless T_Rex 700 is ready for her maiden tommorrow

All I will have to do when I get back hopefully is tidy the wiring up properly and thats it I have not finalised the wiring as the connector on my Align governer is faulty.

Need to wait until Fastlads replace it to really sort the wiring.

Anyway, here comes lazy 8's with a 90!!!!!

Good luck and await your thoughts.Even just hovering around and doing lazy 8`s you will get a good feel for the system.

When you expand the envelope a bit is when you will really see it come alive

One thing to point out and you may have covered it is to ensure the servo leads are firmly plugged into the V Bar unit along with the sensor lead as the plugs can be a bit of a loose fit and having them come unplugged midflight has happened to a few people.I just sealed them with a hot glue gun and its fine.

Just remember the very basic preflight checks, let the swash jump before moving, check tail and swash move against the direction the heli is rotated or tilted.Go have fun with it....

            Well what a day

Stuart Savage at Waterfoot very generously spent quite a few hours this afternoon helping me set my 700 Vbar up.

This saved a huge amount of potential grief as it turns out he has already got a 700 Vbar.

I had made some daft errors in the build and setup so he certainly saved me a trip home with the heli in a bag

In hindsite maybe building your first Vbar and Nitro heli at 3am was not the best move.......

Really like the feel of this and its a bit of a monster. Needs a Governor sensor repacing (Faulty) and then I can start trying a bit harder with it

So again a huge thank you to Stuart Savage at Waterfoot Model Helicopter Club

Gotta say I'm in no hurray to go back to flybar having installed it on the velocity. My cyclic is where I like it now and its real crisp and the tail needs a tweak in terms of piro rate the hold is solid now with no drifting.

Really can't wait for the next flight.
              Cheers

                Hi,

                Any pictures?

I took my 700 out for the first time today - it has the Mikado Head and vBar 4.

I couldn't get the light to turn 'Green' on the trim flight so I turned off auto trim. It flew like it was on rails

Looking at one for my 50 now

                  Hi

did you initialise the trim flight properly? Just asking

                  How did you do it?

I think it goes like this:

Tick the box in the software
Start the heli with the throttle in high position (throttle hold on)
The swash will twitch twice to let you know you are in Autotrim.

All this has to be done on a calm (no wind) day

                  Regards

How about naked (No Canopy)? Wouldn't mind having a nosey at the avionics layout.

                      Cheers

Yep - Did all that today - no luck though.

Just discovered that there is a firmware update that does away with the traffic light - will download it tomorrow
