Whilst there are many cases of people not having problems with gassers there are just as many who have had problems AND eventually sold the heli for being unable to resolve it........ hence why I wait to see how Align will deal with this particular issue. I'm not saying it will be an issue, I'm saying it will need to have something on the heli to resolve the problems of spark ignition interference and it remains to be seen how robust that system will be.

The second problem for any gasser is noise, many flying sites ban them entirely as they don't make the required db levels. Again, looking forward to how well Align combats this one.
I haven't had any problem with interference on my gasser from the ignition system. I'm not aware of any shielding on my gasser to suppress interference other than running an R plug. The electrics are all standard issue type stuff with nothing done to them to shield them so not sure what the problem is?
With the Zimmerman pipe it's quiter than the Align pipe on my 600, although if you listen to some with a tuned pipe on I can see where problems might arise with noise.

Never had any problems with my century pred gasser and 23cc zenoah, i had servo wires everywhere and rx quite close to the engine.

Gassers are common on fixed wing.

They recomend that the ignition amplifier is 12cm away from the reciever to stop interferance.

Im not worried about the align 700g in terms of layout, i just dont think it will have the power like a 2 stroke. if it does i will buy one for xmas.

You can tune the zenoah engines for a LOT more power (with the right porting and pipe), but you'll sacrifice the smooth delivery from the low and mid range up. But you can get over 5 horsepower out of one pretty easily, I'm just not sure if it would be smooth enough to be very pleasant.
