  • T Rex ESP questions, can anyone give me some advice?

Hi, after deciding earlier in the year to progress onto a larger helicopter, i have finally bought myself a T Rex 600 ESP, which is a bit of a budget project, i will be buying bits as and when i can afford them.

I have built the helicopter, and i have fitted the servos, apart from the tail servo which i have still to buy, and here is where the questions start!

In the instructions, it tells you to mount the servos in the frame upside down, this is my first problem, the wires from the servos run very close to the pinion on the motor, i have seen an article in an old magazine which shows a Trex 600 with the servos mounted the correct way up, does it really matter which way up they are fitted???

Also, i detest messy wiring, has anyone found a good tidy route for all your wires, if so i would appreciate a couple of pics to go by.

I have still to buy a gyro, battery or several, transmitter and reciever, the main thing im needing some advice on is a gyro, i know Align do a gyro/servo combo but im not sure i want to spend £100 odd quid on it, what gyro would you reccomend for someone on a budget, bearing in mind im not going to be doing all this 3d stuff, i just want to fly around at my own pace!

Any other advice would be appreciated, if you have any suggestions that you think may be of help.

    Cheers

    Ben

Not the best pics but if you look closely you can see where ive fitted things. The ESC is mounted on teh left hand side frame on the outside. It is attatched with velcroe and Align straps (like you see holding the BEC/RX). As you can see my servos have the wires pointing up and are installed as per the manual. This is teh 600E CF. Havent seen the ESP manual but cant see why you have to fit them the opposite way. The airframe is exactly the same as the CF version aparts from teh black metal bling/TT etc

Grab the Align GP750 and 620 combo Good little gyro that is... better than a Futaba 401 and actually pretty good for 3D tbh. Excellent price for what it is.
