  • 600 Sport washout!!

    Hi folks

Need some advice from the Trex 600 guru's on here.

Never owned one before and I am currently setting my new to me sport up (thanks Martin) with the recommended upgrades (thanks Brian).

My question is regarding the metal washout.

I have bought the super pro washout arms which have the ball races in the 'Y' arms and also the metal washout base.

However, looking at the metal washout base already on the Heli, it looks much more substantial and also has a brass sleeve to run up the mast. This I thought was the preferred method of construction but my new washout base does not have the brass insert nor is it as 'chuncky' as the old one.

Could any super pro users tell me if this is the standard and is okay to use or should I put the new arms on the existing metal base?

New washout base is this one: Fast Lad Performance

Is this the super pro standard one?

    Any advice gratefully received.

    Cheers

    Probably you can use either.
The shorter NSP version wil allow more movement particularly in positive pitch before it hits the bottom of the head block.
Perhaps the NSP head block also has shorter pins and the pin guides in this collar are raised up to keep them engaged - because at negative pitch the binding limit on my helis is the pins hitting the swash as cyclic is applied and a balance between that and the collar dislocating from the pins potentially at extreme control positins.

You are fine with the old collar unless you are running over 12 degrees of pitch - but check the collar can't come off the rotation pins that stick out of the head block during operation of full negative and full cyclic. It may well come off if you push the swash right down with the rx switched off but all three servos never get to fully down in flight.
