  • Finished the 600NSP

I took the day off work today with a view to flying, however a combination of wind, rain, and some jobs I wanted to do put pay to that and I ended up going into the workshop to finish my 600NSP.
I have enjoyed building this from scratch, and was pleased when I checked the pitch setup to find it was within 1/2 degree. I have done a little tweaking and have just got to go and get some fuel to test it, hopefully over the weekend.
I am going to try Optifuel as an alternative to the Model Tecnics I am using at the moment.
Will try a post a picture or two later.
Have a good weekend guys and enjoy yourselves.

Never thought I would see you with a 600nsp Rob but really pleased you got one.

You saw mine (I think) when you visited and thought you would try one too.

I have had it about a month or so Tim, and just wasnt in a hurry to build it. I started during the week in the evenings and finished off today, lovely looking heli and I am looking forward to flying it.

just as a reminder, at least with my NSP it is possible to fly, when the washout base isn't seated on the guidance pins. It doesn't fly very well, though

Have noted that when picking it up, a couple of times the swash has gone so low it disengages the pins. Will try to remember that one before flying.

My first impression, when taking off with my brand-new pride-and-joy, was something like "OMG this is the worst heli I've ever tried". Guess why

I bet that was a bit scary to say the least, I trust you got it down in one piece and rectified the small error.

hehehe you overestimate me. For the first tank I tried very hard to get used to it... well... the first half tank, maybe :-)

Yep done that it was not nice, took mine up and first thing i did was a flip which turn into a mad cork screw flip but got it down safely.
                        Cheers

To solve that I have put an extra end lock coller on top of the other but if you do make sure theirs no binding when full neg & full aile/elev.
Today's outlook is fine for flying.

Just checked out my NSP. With the swash sitting right on top of the upper bearing there is literally a fraction of a mm of the pin left inside the washout base.

It would only take a minor amount of torque to pop them out I think.

In 99.9% of the said cases when your heli is powered up the guide pins will not come out of the washout.

When power is turned off this will happen all too often.

Its still best to do a pre flight check before you fly it though.
