  • 700 Torque Tube

    Hi Guys,

got my replacement torque tube yesterday and it is different to the previous one. The previous TT was not the oringinal as it was replaced in another crash. Anyhow the new one doesnt have the pin through the ends and the pin covers on it? Is it an old one I have been sold? I'd prefer the one that is pinned to be honest.

From the finless videos, there is a boot which slides down on the torque tube and then you knock the pins out and pull the ends off. I suspect you need the old torque tube from the crash and take the ends off to put them on the new tube you have.

I've not had the pleasure of trying it yet luckily.

hmmm, i wasn't aware that Align had changed the design of the TT, so i will be interested in the outcome of this thread. I remember the TT with the pins as this was the type on my original build and to be honest, I have not had cause to replace it yet.

        Which part did you buy?

        HN7056 shows as having:

        Torque tube x 1
        Torque tube end x 2
        Bearing MR148ZZ x 2 (8x14x4mm)
        Torque tube pin guide x 2 (8x12.5x7mm)
        Pin x 2 (2.5x9.8mm)

Thats according to the readyheli parts locator.

I'd give them a call and see what the score is with it then as both readyheli and FL show the contents as in my post.

To otherwise orientated persons shoving it together under the mid day sun..

Actually it's using heat to expand the tube. It returns to its normal dia when cool.

SO you cant fly on a hot day, cos the ends will drop out your TT and you cant fly on a cold day cos your ball links will break, the rest of the time the main gear will possibly maybe strip.......I love my 700

I was there listening to your call Tom.

You spoke to Alan Bell who then asked Andy Hornyak regarding this matter.

Funnily enough I bought a spare Torque Tube today for my 700 and mine is the same.... Crimped on or sweated on as they say.

TBH I don't give a fig about what holds the ends on.

Fact is they are usually knackered when they hit the ground.
