I've got myself a 2nd 600, a sport version and was wondering if I need to upgrade any parts on it to make it a little more precise to fly. Its mainly going to be used as a beater so i dont wish to spend hundreds. What would you change on it just for that little edge.

An swashplate will be a good upgrade. Quickuk swash if you are not planning to buy all the latest NSP bits.Jaco

Strangley enough i was thinking i breaking my NSP for spares. Quk swash, washout, boom clamp, tail stays, align tail control arm, metal a-arm, metal fan, black metal parts all round. Also got the orignal black NSP swashplate.
If anyone wants any of it post back on here. If not i will be making a thread for it at some point as all parts are still on the heli just now.KDS Models | RCProPlus

My pro always flew really well but i have heard the Swash wears fast ish. Just check it out Martin to see if its good and change if need be.
Looked a nice heli on sunday so should be all good hopefully mate
Not sure what tails it had on but they looked plastic?.. maybe some carbons there to crisp it up

Its a sport mark i think the pro has a different swash on it. dont get me wrong it is a great heli in good condition just want to make it mine by adding a few bits of bling to personalise it a bit.Originally posted by mark lane View PostMy pro always flew really well but i have heard the Swash wears fast ish. The pro and the sport have the same swashes I think Martin, or at least my 2 did.Originally posted by rcslopesurfer View PostIts a sport mark i think the pro has a different swash on it. dont get me wrong it is a great heli in good condition just want to make it mine by adding a few bits of bling to personalise it a bit.James

I'll mostly differ from the above.
On a budget or as a basher best options. It flies well enough and will take you a long way just stock with a metal boom clamp.
For 3D. Hard dampners with the tube.
Quick UK boom clamp..even the Align metal upgrade item could be better
Metal A arm or the Metal Lower Mixers as they come with the ball raced Y arms included..both prevent the washout twisting in flight. No need for metal upper mixers as they just bend in a crash anyway.
If your flying it hard and want sharp stops Metal blade grips make for a much sharper flying model. If you fly it back to back with Plastic/Metal grips you can see the blades coning quite considerably with stiff blades making stops bouncy.
The phasing issue is greatly over hyped in my opinion. I ran two 600's back to back one with a QUK/Align swash etc and did the above changes one at a time between the two.
The most cost effective differences came from the above. The swash making only a minimial difference. The majority of phasing problems were more apparant from the washout twisting.

thanks for the informative post brian
Never even gave the A arm a thought.
I have a set of upper metal mixer arms off the old pro's swash plate is it best to use them or just not worth it?Last edited by LipolyGone; 14-07-2009, 10:52 PM.Martin
