  • Picked up my 600e yesterday, a few questions

    Hi Guys,

As it says really, picked up a second hand 600e yesterday. Couple of quick questions...

What size tail blades do I need 95mm???
got a set of 600mm Carbon main blades which should be ok.

what regulator and Lipo do peole recommend for powering the radio kit.

for the drive battery 6s anywhere from 4000 to 5000 is acceptable??

I'd spend some time reading before buying anything.
I've never owned a 600, but it's known as a LiPo pack killer on 6s. I'd go for 8+s instead (but there are lots of people who fly 6s).

          Regulator options:
          - for example Arizona
          - or Helitron (world-of-heli.de)
          - LiPo straight to Rx and Spektrum Rx with built-in 5 V regulator for the rudder servo. Only if the swash servos can handle the voltage, most can't.
          - Kontronik Jive with built-in BEC. "Officially" not recommended, but works of course. The problem is, if you lose power for any reason (incl. burnt ESC), you'll definitely lose more than only power...
          - Castle creations CC 10 (either from an Rx pack or the flight pack). I wouldn't use this myself, but I'm sure it's possible. At least in my T-Rex 450 it hasn't caused me any trouble.

Standard bec is fine, various different motor and ecs combos but nothing wrong with the standard set-up bar for extreme 3d stick bangers.

I'm more a sport flier thinking about maybe starting 3d, so the standard motor esc will be fine for now.
Thanks for the tips on the bec and lipo though.

Anyone got some good links for where to get the servo fixing screws and plastic plates that go the other side of the frame??

Nearly there, really looking forward to getting her in the air.

Only thing stopping me is the servo screws. I've got the plastic nuts that go behind but I haven't got any of the screws that fit them. standard servo screws are too small. anyone know where to get some???
t3x14 is listed in the manual but google draws a blank

                      Well she flies!!!!!!
admittedly only the shortest of hops in the back garden for a quick look see. Hopefully if the weather plays ball my lunch hour will be at the field for a proper hover around and setup session.

Modelfixings heavy duty servo screws were the way forward.
Just waiting on my new charger and spare lipo from HK to arrive.
