It's amazing how much difference rotating the hub on the mainshaft and bolting it up in a different order can make. Even pushing the clutch shoe across to one side when bolting it up or swapping the shoe round 180 deg... If all else fails a gentle tap with a block of wood occasionially does the trick.

Little update guys - its still sh!t!!!

Fixed the boom support which had started to come away - no difference
Tried different blades - no difference
Checked all bearings - fine - no difference
Checked every nut, bolt and screw - no difference
Just for extra work I tried a different Rx - No difference
Checked Spartan settings - no difference

So, that leaves the motor. It's coming out as this is the last area the problem could be. To add to all this I've also got governor problems with this heli!!!

      Good grief!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes Rob, thought that was the original problem but I really think its got to be the motor and/or drivetrain. I've tried everything else!

Q/ Pete what servo horn length are you running at the Mo and have you checked the real gain figure the Gyro is actually seeing via editor.

Thanks very much Matt. I will keep your offer in mind. I'm going to pull the motor in the next few days. May tap you up to cast your eye over it. A little bird tells me you have a dial gauge?!!!

very interested to hear the outcome of this as I am having similar issues with my Raptor 30, IE tail not holding and then with enough gain to hold the tail goes wild with the smallest of rudder inputs..

I already have a long list of things to check now having read this thread so thanks guys.

I know it is unlikely but you don't think the bearing you replaced in the engine could of been faulty Pete, might be causing a vibration.
Something else of have seen is the tail pitch slidder locking up as it is worn and slightly twisting on the output shaft, replaced my super pro one because of this.

Little update guys. Completely torn the heli down this evening. noticed a bit of play in the clutch bearing block and found a notchy bearing. I'm running the CNC block jfi. Replaced the bearing and it feels smoother. Reckon that could cause the vibes? I'm not so sure as the vibes are really noticable at idle when those bearings wouldnt be moving. Anyway, nothing else to report yet. Engine looks fine.

                              The saga continues...........
