Thats just it it dosn't vibrate the top resonates giving you the impression that the shafts bent.

Sounds like every other raptor to me. Just fly it, you`re ok.

      Hi Tosh

I'm having the same issue with my 600. How would one straighten a main shaft that's slightly bent?

I've just ordered a couple from Fast Lad but, if the one I have can be fixed, that would be good.

Oh, BTW, I've not crashed my 600 so if it is bent, it was bent out of the bag.

      Cheers.

I haven't got a glass table, therefore I always test for bent mainshafts (when not obvious !), by sticking them in an electric drill and spinning them up, it's usually pretty apparent when they are bent. I always flip them over and test from both ends. Works for me

Works on feathering spindles as well, but these are even easier to test by removing the blades and blade bolts, sticking a driver on one blade grip retaining bolt, and while turning the driver (and the feathering spindles its attached to), watch the other grip, if it moves up and down, the shaft is bent.

Why does it always persist down at weekends ?

I think a good way to check is to take the head off completely and give it a little throttle - not fast though.

Not a good idea with a nitro IMHO, no load on the engine.

Simplest way to check is remove and roll it on a piece of glass or mirror.
