  • Couple of build questions

    Hi guys

I'm steaming on with the 600 build but have a couple of questions:

    1) My kit included two mixture servo brackets. Do I need to fit them?

    2) Having marched on and built the frame, and installed the landing gear mounts, it shows rear frame braces - A kinda droopy L shaped bracket. I have fitted them but had to remove 4 bolts that were already installed in an earlier build step. Is it needed?

    Cheers.

    1. No, not needed unless you are using a carbsmart or similar to adjust the carb mixture in flight.

    2. Sounds like a frame strengthener, but not sure - can you post a pic?

    Cheers,

Mart, they're all frame strengtheners. Fit the two back ones for definate. For the front you should end up with one spare. Fit the mixture servo one on the right hand side of the heli and either the switch or the blank on the left.

One thing i would recommend is to replace the button head bolt on the tail bell crank with a SHCS and file just a touch out of the frame so its a tight fit.

I think they may be. Here's the pics.

What's confused me is that the build manual has you install all the screws that attach these brackets and then, later in the build, they show them installed, although the install directions are very sketchy.

As such you have to remove already loctited screws.

Not to worry i made the same mistake. I think the manual uses some of the litrature from the PRO when the frame braces were upgrades. Whereas they are stock on the NSP kit.

            Mart.

The right hand bracket is for frame strength. It goes to the rear of the frame. The other two are switch harness holders that are (if you choose to fit an on/off switch) for your receiver. Most these days use the 2 in 1 regulator, so these are reduntant. Therefore, the two parts on the left are spare carbon.

Martin there are a good selection of build videos for the 600 on the helifreak site, I used those when building mine and had no problems.

Definately fit the frame braces/stiffeners, i did not have them when I first built my 600 and when I had my first unplanned landing guess were the side frames cracked..... exactly were the stiffeners fit.

Wish I had put them on when I first built mine, would have saved me £80 and a few hours of re-building.

Following your advice I modified the switch bracket to look the right hand bracket in my earlier pic. They looked like the pic belpw when I'd finished and I installed them both in the forward frames.

                    Cheers for the advice guys.
