Installing 600 Fan

Hi guys

When installing the fan onto the engine last night I found that it was a very tight fit and I ended up almost pulling it on by tightening the engine crankshaft bolt. I had totally removed the fan retaining screws that tighten the fan onto the crankshaft.

Is this normal? I'm a bit worried when it comes time I need to take it off.

How do you guys remove yours? Is a puller available?

While I won't say it is normal, mine slipped on quite easily, it is possible that the engine fan mount is squeezed where you tightening it against the shaft. You could've prised open slightly before mounting though.

Yeah - shoulda done that. Oh well, I'll get it off when the time comes I'm sure...

mine was a tight fit and i had to use the crank nut to get it all the way on and then when i had to remove it. it was very hard to remove even when i was priseing it. it been ok for a year now with no probs.
