  • Trex 700 ys91 sr & sb19

For a number of weeks now I have been trying to tune in the engine but no matter what I do I cant shake the very slight tail wag, which isnt constant. I would really appreciate some help and feedback from everyone and hopefully once and for all solve this problem.

I throughly enjoy the trex 700 , it's an animal, but the tail will not lock in rock solid, which is now getting very frustracting. It never drifts off in flight forward or backward , and goes where ever I put it but it has this very slight in consistent tail wag.

    This is my setup

    Trex 700
    YS91-SR
    HATORI SB19
Solid G Gyro - updated version
    JR 8900g Tail Servo
    Align 620 all round
    S3152 on the throttle
Flighttech reg @ 6.0v with set down on tail sevro
    2.4g r617 receiver
    Align gov

The engine has done about 1 1/2 galllons so should be run in by now. I have read up on the engine and also aware it can be a pig to tune, but she runs like a dream.

I have changed the gyro mounting which made no difference. I have changed the gyro setup and that made it worse.

    Any ideas ?

Have you tried it with the governor off...

If the engine has an occasional kick in it - this will hit the tail more seen in a hover than FF.

Governors will mask it, but I not get rid of it....The alternative is to try a Revlock where you can adjust the sensitivity of the governor that can help with instances like these.

One thing that can really smooth this engine out is putting in a second head gasket, basically shimming the head. It's cheap and it worked a treat on mine, and I can't say I noticed any real loss of power. Just wish I could get the needles right at the moment.
