    nice build !

I bought the 600nsp kit with the blue cnc and red canopy too and my set up is identical with gp750,ds620 and ar7000!

i bought blue cnc tail blade grips as i was disappointed with the black plastic ones in the NSP kit!

I notice though that your main gears are grey and mine are white.???!

I had a 600e prior to the nsp and the nsp is a totally different animal, you will love flying it !

Very impressed with the nice clean tidy finish you have Martin.

Flying it will prove just how good they really are.

Well done on a very good build Martin it looks stunning.

Very nice build there Martin, if I had to be critical it looked as though the switch unit for the align reg was about 3º off vertical

Seriously very nicely done, I still havent taken mine out of the box, But now I have some good reference pictures to look at when wiring up.

Good tip - any links for the clips?

I'll get someone to do that. Who knows, the maiden may be in the presence of someone from this very forum...

The 500 flying is coming on, slowly...

[quote=dw45;284188]...I replaced with a 6mm carbon rod with quickuk ends, doesn't need supports and no flexing. if required I can post pic.[quote]

Thanks for the tip - I'll look into it.

Ah, that'll be the give in the Velcro!

Thanks for all your kind words guys. As a newbie I'm flattered, I really am. I do try to be tidy and logical about my builds.

The only concern I really had was placing the 2-in-1 switch so close to the fuel pipe. I can see the day when it gets a spraying. Where did you guys put yours?

I need to buy another log book too!

I want to do a new "fleet shot" but, on looking at the weather, it doesn't look like I'm gonna get outside today!

            Looks good Martin.
I had the same concern as you about the 2-1 switch, so placed it on the right side of the frame, within the canopy. It's at finger length, where the canopy buldge's out. Placing it there also lets you see the lights in the air, when tail in. I also then put a 3 way fuel filter holder where your switch currently is.

To be honest, the lights go red way before the battery has lost 1/4 of its juice.

I assume Busterboy - or you will take some excellent photos. Look forward to them.

First dibs on the 500 if you don't fly it anymore

Thanks for that - and the 500's staying...

Oh, forgot to add that, when cutting the spiral wrap I put on the AR7000 satellite receiver, I ended up giving the antenna a "hair cut"! What an ass eh? I cut it clean in half.

I stripped back the two halves a fraction of a mm and used the trusty old soldering iron to rejoin them. Hope it does the job OK.

Need to get some more fuel tube to protect them, and my 500 ones too.

Well, I've done the final step on the 600 build - fitted the elevator servo extension cable, routed the wire and hooked everything up.

On checking the controls I had the elevator servo reversed so that was an easy fix.

Now all I have to do is check the blade pitch and it'll be time to fire her up for ground runs, do the tracking and then take to the air.

I can feel a trip up north coming, if Tim's still up for helping me with final checks and test flight?

Just out of interest, for a learner like me, what pitch settings would you go for? I'm running the 500 on -2, 0, +11 if my memory serves me correct.

Mart, you are very welcome to bring your 600 down to Alton MFC for check over and test flights. We would be more than happy to help (don't want to step on Tim's toes mind..)
                          Cheers Russ

Hi Russ - thanks very much for your kind offer. I'll check in with Tim first as I've been talking about heading up there for some time now.

I can vouch for Russ as a competant heli builder if you do come our way. He's built more heli's than you've 'signed off build steps' on yours

On a scale of 0 to 3D, about 1.53 and counting (backwards at the moment...). Getting there though, 0.1D at a time!

                                Martin,

re the fuel clips, I got them from Fast Lads, they were a couple of quid for a pack of 4 IIRC and I needed 3 packs for my Raptor which has a header tank installed.

As for you giving the RX a hair cut I would replace the antenna all together as the length of the exposed wire on the antenna is critial to the performance of the RX and the last thing you want is to lose signal when your in the air. I'm not sure how it would affect the signal having one antenna with a blob of solder in the middle of it and probably a differnent length to the other. For the sake of £5 I would deffo replace it...
