      Isn't it!

I got bored so worked on the build a bit more:

      Evo-Stiking clutch bearing:

      Bolting bits to one frame:

      It's starting to take shape:

      Martin

Most of the Aligns, fair few Spektrum bits, bunch of Align & HiTec servos, OBE, VD & Bar.

Never heard of using evo-stick Martin. I assume its to prevent the bearing outer potentially spinning in the pinion housing?

          looking good.

Indeed it is Brian. Finless Bob uses what he calls "Shoe Goo". Never heard of that here but, on Goggleing for it, the description sounded very much like Evo Stik, so that's what I used...

Martin..see when you reach the front tail gearbox. When you assemble it it's worth while to set the mesh correctly as the gears are a lot less prone to stripping.

What you do is shim the up/down play out of the vertical shaft and when you press the Umbrella gear into the bearings insert it only in till you get the correct mesh (Rob has a thread in 50 tuning showing this tip.)

Combined with this run the tail blades loose in the holders and it makes it relatively difficult to strip out the tail gearbox as its the front gearset that goes requiring the housing/tail assembly to be pulled for repairs.

Speaking of tail grips they are hollow and the tail blade bush can potentially creep out of the blade sideways through time. Press the bush out, roughen and add some epoxy resin.
Note:- when you get round to tail grips its normal for them to rock a bit on the shaft. This does not effect the inflight performance and is normal.

Front tail push rod really benifits to being sleeved with a piece of carbon tube in a similiar manner to the 700. It really improves piro consistancy in wind a lot.

              cheers Brian

Been working on the engine this afternoon. Got the fan and clutch installed:

Martin the Magnet pockets are quite shallow in the fan, ideally you want them down flush. If you have not done that be doubly carefull when you put the motor in that the magnets dont rub on the cooling shroud.

To allow for this I suggest you dont push the motor fully up from underneath when you tighten the motor mount bolts but mid way in the bolt holes, there is also enough movement to make sure the clutch and bell are aligned correctly and not dragging.

note there is also a little movement for adjusting the cowl height wise with its screw positions again to make sure there no rubbing.

                  Brian
