Mart - I suggest you swap those black carbon paddles for the white ones. The black ones are lighter and will make your heli mega responsive but also less stable than with the whites. Trust me. I use the whites on both my 600's now and the heli feels more stable, more locked in certain moves (backwards, funnels etc) and is less twitchy all round. Ade Smith gave me this advice and he was right!

Looking good otherwise with a more clinical build technique than me!!!

Great to see you've made a start on it, and looking forward to seeing how the build goes.

Apart from a small weight difference between the Blacks/White paddles it is the profile that makes the difference. Weights 12g vs 16g

The Blacks have a sharper leading edge and a thinner foil. This is why they are more aggressive than the weight difference suggests.

Thanks for the tips on the paddles. I'll bear that in mind come test flight time.

That'll be me, with the aid of a wireless remote release and a timer on the shutter.

Looking great Martin! it doesn't matter if your not doing a blog just yet because you will have all the pics and then you could always put them up at a later date even after the build has finished, with description of each stage.Thats what i'm going to do with my 500 i think.
                Cheers Grant

Hit my first issue on the build last night. Went to waggle the head about last night and the seesaw didn't seesaw!

I think, with Finless saying how much more vibration there is on a nitro than an electric, and the importance of threadlocking the metal-to-metal parts, I must have gotten a little over zealous with the Loctite.

No major issues tho - I managed to get the bolts out, clean the area up, re-Loctite and install the bolts on the seesaw without having to pull the flybar.

Checked it this morning and it seesaws just fine!

                    Electronics tip!

                    Martin,

After a crash I had to replace the frames. So this is what I did before the frames went together. It is by no means perfect...

Also notice the magnet sensor mount on above the main gear. That si for my eagletree rpm sensor.

                    Enjoy YOUR build!!

                          Danny.

He has been "VERY BUSY" posting pictures of fit birds.

Please do not slow his progress down posting garbage like that.

Fit birds. Helis. Fit birds. Helis.

                            Hhmmmm.... tis a close call...

EDIT - on balance, were it a choice of playing with AJ for an hour, or my 500 or 600 build for an hour, it'd be AJ that'd win every blooming time!

Finished off the head build this morning. Not too much worth shooting tho, but here's a couple anyway:

Re-Loctiteing the factory assembled washout arms:

                                Head assembly complete:
